Creative Ceremony & the Sacred Art of Slowness
Nurturing healing through community & creative intuition this autumn
I am grateful to be writing my first letter to you after a long break from connecting through this newsletter.
I write you today, as I continue in my postpartum & motherhood journey - my being deeply interwoven with my two little ones - who are such beautiful companions & teachers in this river of life!
It is tender times. I am resonating with the slowing down & tuning in that happens in autumn.
visiting with the native Paw Paw tree and Ostrich Ferns at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
One joyful practice has been connecting inward & in community through portals & rituals. This practice of collective gathering feels palpably powerful in my body and spirit. From visiting Offering & Reposo y Recuerdo at Greenwood Cemetery with my family to taking a solo date at Holes in the Wall Collective's Dymystify the Witches gathering at the Wavertree Ship - after each journey, I leave with a sense of sacred connection and renewal.
I feel excited, vulnerable and humbled to move back into guiding collective spaces this fall, in collaboration and community.
I would love to invite you to join SacredSpace for some of our upcoming collective gatherings this fall - honoring healing ritual, slowness and creative intuition. Invitations below :)
What is a creative ceremony? Guided by our creativity & intuition, in creative ceremony, time becomes elastic & space holds multiple realms. We enter the liminal - we tune in with our embodied wisdom, our ancestors & the spirit world to connect with and be guided by their wisdom. A transformative & prayerful practice to support us in living in freedom, healing and care for all beings.
Why slowness? Modernity forces us to move at an unnatural pace that fosters disconnection, illness & obsessive thinking. When we intentionally practice slowness as a sacred act, we create space for our inner truths to come to the surface; we open ourselves to the possibility of moving with more mindful intention & attunement with ourselves, one another, our earth and all of life. A radical shift from colonial and capitalism frameworks of productivity into resting in and moving with openhearted spaciousness.
sending love, from my heart to yours!
Noelle
A playful, mystical encounter to gather in sacred connection with our bodies, lineages, the earth and one another other. A collective healing ritual to slow down, reconnect, and be nurtured in community through creative intuition and sacred play. Open to artists, healers, cultural workers, organizers, and those looking to call in connection, creativity, and a little magic.
Come as you are. No experience needed, no expectations. Come solo or bring a friend. Space is limited to keep an intimate gathering. Look forward to seeing you there! ❤️
A collaboration between Brooklyn Arts Exchange, The Laundromat Project, Noor Theatre & SacredSpace. This project is supported by The Laundromat Project through the Create & (Re)Connect Fund.
A joyful gathering to explore slowness in our bodies, thoughts and spirit. Modernity forces us to move at an unnatural pace that fosters disconnection, illness & obsessive thinking. What happens when we reconnect ourselves with the rhythms of the earth, cosmos & the interconnected web of life? This space will offer experiments in movement, meditation & with our creative intuition to find attunement with the sacred art of slowness.
I came out of the ritual more brave, clearer, and closer to the ground of myself than I have felt in a very long time. I came out more me. A step forward into the light. A door to walk through. A surrender.
